original technical articles, as opposed to just lists of things. Good photo essays too.

- Cicada Photo Resource - Collection of resources for serious photographers: in-depth zone system tutorial, camping

- Cory's Photo Gallery - By Cory Christensen. Great features in addition to the photographer's own work. There are
several good articles, and a very good guide to some of the other fine personal photography galleries on the Web.
- Fine Art Photography by Carl Volk - B/W and color, portraits, landscapes. There is also information and articles on
digital imaging. Good, carefully selected links too.
- Black Cat PhotoProducts - Commercial site with some good articles on camera movement, grey card usage, and 50+
photographic rules of thumb
- ZoneZero - "ZoneZero is a site on the internet, dedicated to photography and its journey from the analog to digital
world." The site includes galleries and an ezine.
- Photo UK - "The Definitive Guide to the UK Photo Industry"
- The Photographer's News Network - A virtual storefront "where pro shooters could gather, gossip, exchange
information, display work, hold seminars, browse a library, grab a cup of coffee."
- Amateur Photography - More than the name implies, this site includes a gallery of work by talented amateurs in the U.
S. Pacific Northwest, articles on techniques, methods, and equipment, a directory of places and locations for
photography in the Nortwest, and links to additional resources.

Discussion Forums
Forums, like stand-alone BBS systems and Usenet newsgroups, allow you to post messages and questions for anyone else
who might read them to answer. They are often easier to use than the alternatives, the answers stay around longer, and
they are moderated, hence free or most flaming and commercial advertising.

Photo Contests
Glamour Photography
Mostly these are clubs or organizations that arrange for group glamour photography shoots or provide related services to
interested photographers. Personal opinion: the world view of this photographic specialty seems a little skewed towards
outdated notions of gender roles, to put the best interpretation on it. However, here and there one can find more
enlightened attitudes towards the subject matter...
Online Photo/imaging Periodicals
How are these different from "galleries"? Not very much, but they tend to have more written content, and to offer new
"issues" are semi-regular intervals.
- Apogee Photo Magazine - A full spectrum photo magazine. "Our goal is to provide you and our World Wide Web
audience with a generalist publication, focused on the broad subject of photography."
- The Sensuous Line - "The Journal of Fine Art Photography Celebrating the Human Form"
- HyperZine - Photography and videography. "The online photo, video, and imaging authority". Better than most
print-based photo magazines.
- Photo-One - Intended for serious and professional photographers. Articles, galleries, discussion forums.
- OnLine Photography - "The Journal of Fine Art Photography" Good portfolios of advanced and master photographers.
Also good links and technical articles. For very serious photographers. "Our goal is to present images and information
to thrill and inspire all of us who eat, breathe, and sleep photography."
- Photoquest - Includes galleries of various photographers, articles, tutorials, tips, and a stock photography catalog
- Focal Point f/8 - "An experimental design and production group for new digital and democratic photo and multimedia
journalism on the World Wide Web."
- Netlook Photo Magazine - "Netlook Photographic Magazine is a photographic magazine very much interested in your
work. Heavy on real photographs, some editorial comment, technical information and interviews."
- WebPhoto - "Webphoto is a site dedicated to professional photographers, people who aspire to become professionals,
and people who just enjoy seeing quality photography."
- The Bitweaver's Loom - "Discusses photography in digital times. A non-commercial, non-profit magazine featuring

Trash and treasure - maybe just the contents of someone's hard disk GIF/JPEG directory. Some of these are archives
themselves, and others are caregorized lists of other sites. An archive is like a gallery, only less formal and selective.
Archives are the place to go for picture collections and sources of new ideas.
